After being elected president on Nov. 8, President-elect Donald Trump and his transition team are making decisions as to who will assist him in leading the county during the next four years.

One of the most important and honorable roles in Trump’s cabinet is Secretary of State. There are a number of national leaders being considered for this position, however, there is a local candidate as well: Orange County congressman Dana Rohrabacher.

Rohrabacher began his career as a speech writer for President Ronald Reagan and has served in the House of Representatives since 1988. Currently, Rohrabacher is serving his 13th term representing the 48th district of California.

He is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and is also the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats. Rohrabacher is also a member of the Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, and the Global Environment.
