  • YELL AND SHOUT: Seniors Taylor Morales, Hannah Waldron, Nick Barq, Brooks Massey, and Arman Kayhan-Mahd lead the student section in their last cheer as yell leaders during the Senior Farewell Rally on May 1 in the Meruelo Athletic Center. This new position was created this year and these students attended many sporting events to get the crowds hyped up. “My favorite part about being a yell leader was being able to be a part of so many special moments," Waldron said. "Being on the football field during so many amazing wins and feeling the spirit and energy from all the students allowed me to experience my senior year in a way that not everyone gets to.”

  • LAST HURRAH: While the class of 2019 is doing there final Alma Mater, Senior Nathaniel Almendral decided to make this last one count. He proceeded to jump into the crowd and get lifted by his classmates and friends. The saddened seniors soon became much more cheery and smiles spread across the crowds face.

  • SACK SHARK: During the rally senior Taylor Morales lifted the “Sack Shark” into the air. This blow up toy become a regular feature at sporting events this year. “The sack shark originally came as an idea to really jump into Friday Night Football Games and to try to engage the Den. Having the football team come off of a winning season, I wanted to make sure that our student section lived up to the standard.” Morales said, “It was one of the most iconic memories I have and one of the coolest ideas I’ve had. I was even interviewed by Fox Sports West and ABC news for my sack shark.” Morales will be attending Boston College next fall.

  • PUTTING ONE STEP IN FRONT OF THE OTHER: Senior Carlos Gonzalez, who is a varsity soccer player that will be attending UC Riverside for college, walks across the Meruelo floor during the Senior Farewell Rally. He has been playing since freshman and was this years senior goalie for the varsity boys team and will continue to play soccer at UCR.

  • SENIOR SMILES: Senior Cailyn Crocker crosses the Meruelo floor as her name is called; Crocker is on the Varsity Girls' Basketball Team will be attending Cal Berkeley next fall.
