What’s going on this Halloween?
October 13, 2015
If you feel like you’re too old for trick-or-treating, too young to stay in and pass out candy, get out of that mindset and remember that you live in Southern California and there is so much Halloween fun to be had. Here are 5 event suggestions for Halloween night.
1. Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery
If you’ve never visited the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for a movie night, this is your last chance for this year’s season! Dress up as your favorite Rocky character and dive into spooky Hollyweird madness. Gates open at 5:15 and the movie starts at 7:00, so get there early, get yourself a good seat on a deceased ex-famous person’s grave, and have a pre-movie picnic with your friends.
Cost: $25 + $10-$15 for parking
2. Fidlar at The Regent
If you want to venture outside the Orange County music scene and are feeling in a surf-skate-punk band mood, head to The Regent Theatre to see Fidlar. Make sure to outfit yourself in spookiest costume you can conjure up.
Cost: $18
3. Joyce Manor at The Fonda
Joyce Manor always play great holiday shows and have hinted at covering some spooky seasonal songs like the Misfits’ “Halloween” – I can only imagine how fun that would be. Not to mention, Girlpool is on the lineup too… Enough said.
Cost: $17.50
4. Ceremony at Chain
What better way to spend your Halloween than getting down to hardcore punk band Ceremony in the beautiful grime of Anaheim’s beloved Chain Reaction? There is no better way. Plain and simple.
Cost: $12
5. Knott’s Scary Farm
This one is arguably either a classic or a cliche, depending on your viewpoint, age, and how many times you’ve been to the theme park in the mystic nights of October. Whatever that may be, keep your mind open to the new mazes and don’t forget to visit Elvira’s Asylum for some dark comedy and talented singing by the 62-year-old Mistress of the Dark.
Cost: $40-$70
If all else fails, you’re never too old to go trick-or-treating.
