READY, SET, GO: On Oct. 20, the all male kingsmen honors choir recorded the vocals for the upcoming virtual Fall Concert that will take place on Nov. 1. They all sing their song “Homeward Bound” with their mask on and while maintaining social distancing standards. Sophomore Benjamin Thai, senior Justin Vu, and senior Kenny Pham talk between takes of their song. “I missed the live audience from in-person concerts, but I was also less nervous singing for the virtual concert.” Benjamin Thai said.

![FRIENDSHIP IN PRINT Members of the Hi-Lighter student newspaper gather for a press conference in 1954. Among them is senior Lenore Rigney (O’Hara), who had worked on the publication for two years after transferring to Mater Dei as a junior. “I found the students were all so friendly and accepting,” O’Hara said. “It was [important] to be friendly to someone new and to help them get used to the school and make friends.”](https://thescarletscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_3582-600x397.jpeg)

![WITH WIDE ARMS: Senior Kira Imhoff, in the role of Ariel, yells as senior London Coco Griffin, playing Prospero, looks on with pride. Throughout the play, Imhoff performed musical solos as Prospero’s servant spirit. “It felt so refreshing to return to in-person plays,” Imhoff said. “Having an audience to interact with made theatre feel like theatre again. I felt so blessed to be doing live theatre with an amazing cast and crew. Everyone killed it and I was so happy to work with them. You should have seen Mrs. Slay, [she] was so enthusiastic and pumped to get back.”](https://thescarletscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/05DECCE2-D07B-485B-A3C4-25B376EA4DF5-475x327.jpeg)
