Winter Formal:

Last Sunday, Feb. 2, Mater Dei hosted their annual Winter Formal Dance. This year, it was held at the Aquarium of the Pacific! The students dressed in their most elegant attire while they observed the unique ocean life and danced with friends. “I knew I wanted a ticket when I heard [Winter] Formal and petting fish in the same sentence,” sophomore Brooklyn Krotts said.

UDA Dance Competition:

Monday, Feb. 3, concluded the UDA Dance Competition for the Mater Dei Song Team. The team flew to Orlando, Florida to showcase their best routines to judges. The trip concluded on a positive note when their pom routine made it to finals for the first time! “Seeing all of my seniors leave me has been so bittersweet, [but] I know making finals meant the world to them,” sophomore Isabella Waddington said.

College Commitment Day:

Today, Feb. 5, was the second College Commitment Day of the 2024-2025 school year. The ceremony began at 7:30 a.m. in the Meruelo Athletic Center where the nine student-athletes were celebrated by their families, coaches, and fellow students. College Commitment Day acted as an acknowledgement to the successes of these dedicated student athletes who plan to continue their athletic careers in college.
