Hundreds gather in Downtown Santa Ana after the recent presidential election.

On Sunday Nov. 13, upwards of 300 protesters gathered and marched through downtown Santa Ana in the wake of the recent presidential election. Protesters carried signs, participated in chants, and maintained a peaceful disposition throughout the demonstration. There were no arrests made, only a community standing in solidarity.

The protest started at the courthouse where the first chants of  “We reject the president elect!” were heard.

After meeting at the courthouse, the protesters continued through streets near civic center and ended with a march down 4th Street.

“It made me feel connected to everyone, protesting something that connected people that wouldn’t otherwise be connected. It was empowering and it made me feel safe. Just knowing that you’re not alone and there’s other people feeling the same things as you,” said a rally participant.

This particular protest was one of many that have taken place across the country since the election.
