Wow! The Monarchs are on a roll! The Mater Dei football team showed their pride by conquering a tough Tesoro team 28-21. This game has the Monarchs 2-0 on the season before heading into league play. Starting junior and quarterback, Matt McDonald, was out this game with a broken arm. Freshman, JT Daniels, stepped into the role for this game.
Daniels filled in well, scoring the first touchdown of his high school varsity career in the second half of the game. Daniels sent a 50 yard pass to CJ Parks while running to get out of a scramble.
According to Maxpreps.com, the Monarchs are the #3 ranked team in Southern California and second in the Trinity league to the St. John Bosco.

Among them is senior Lenore Rigney (O’Hara), who had worked on the publication for two years after transferring to Mater Dei as a junior. “I found the students were all so friendly and accepting,” O’Hara said. “It was [important] to be friendly to someone new and to help them get used to the school and make friends.”](https://thescarletscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_3582-1200x794.jpeg)
