MONARCHS IN PINK Freshmen Brooklyn Almasi, Rachel Koch, and Jeanette Schulz smile into the camera before the big game at the Freshman Tailgate. The annual Freshman Tailgate, hosted on Friday, Sept. 20, at the top of the parking structure at Santa Ana Stadium, was a big hit. The Freshman Commissioners and Freshman Officers organized the event with fun games, various raffles, and catered Chick-fil-A. DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY A crowd of students sway and celebrate at the 2023 Mater Dei Homecoming Dance. Students, like senior Hailey Foster, find the dancing to be their favorite part of the event. “The best part of Homecoming, I would say, is the last two hours of the dance,” Foster said. “Because those last two hours are always the hours where you're dancing, and the people that want to dance are there, and you're able to just have fun.”

CLUBS FOR CHANGE President Kaitlyn Gilbreth and Vice President Reed Herenes promote their club, Higher Ground, during Club Rush. Many Mater Dei clubs are categorized as humanitarian or awareness clubs. In these clubs, students join in order to make a difference. “As a volunteer for the Higher Ground nonprofit organization in Anaheim, I wanted to find a way for the Mater Dei community to get involved in this wonderful organization,” Gilbreth said.
