Junior Retreat:
From Thursday, Oct. 19 to Friday, Oct. 20, the junior class went on their annual retreat in the Wrightwood Mountains. Spending time away from technology, students used this experience as a chance to build deeper connections with their class through prayer and Christ-like values. “This experience was very peaceful and allowed me to grow closer to my class and God,” junior Ella Crosby said.
Choir Fall Concert:
On Sunday, Oct. 22, Mater Dei choir groups held their first performance of the annual Fall Concert at Our Lady Queen of Angels. Following weeks of dedicated preparation, the students put on a successful first show and are thrilled to share their hard work with the Mater Dei community. The second showing will be tonight at 7:00PM. “Performing and the time that is put into our rehearsals allows all our effort to pay off,” junior Madeline Montegani said. “That is the most fulfilling feeling.”
Red Ribbon Week:
This week Mater Dei is celebrating Red Ribbon Week. To further drug-free awareness, students are encouraged to participate in dress-up days and various lunch time activities including trivia games and wristband distribution. Make sure to show your support towards the Red Ribbon campaign this week!
