Monarchs Save Lives through Red Cross Blood Drive:

On Nov. 29, the annual Red Cross Blood drive at Mater Dei began. Many Monarchs came together to save lives by donating their blood to this amazing organization. By donating your blood, you can help someone who suffers from various conditions such as anemia or severe blood loss to increase their hemoglobin, iron levels, and improve their oxygen amount. “I want to help by donating my blood for those in need,” junior Luna Gonzalez said. Many staff and students like Gonzalez will aid in the Red Cross’s mission, and save lives all over the world.

Mater Dei Varsity Mock Trial Continues to Playoffs:

The Mater Dei Varsity Mock Trial team is going to the playoffs this week, entering with a record of 4-0. This is round 5 of the Orange County CRF competition, and includes the top 16 teams in the county. This is one of the first times in years that Mater Dei has gone into playoffs with no losses. The Monarchs will face some challenging competitors, but we wish them the best of luck as they compete. 

Winter Sports Rally 2023:

This Friday, Dec. 1, Mater Dei celebrates not only their Winter Sports, but the holiday season during a fun and engaging rally. The rally will showcase the Winter Sports Teams, and allows the student body to get more spirited as we enter a new season. It will be accompanied by some fun activities, games, and performances led by the Student Leadership team. Make sure to show support to all winter sports teams this season!
