AP Testing:
Mater Dei students who wish to challenge themselves academically have the choice of taking an Advanced Placement Course where they may receive college credit if they pass the test. Many students are taking these tests this week and next week in hopes to pass the test and obtain college credit. Junior Sky Vessels shares why she decided to take three AP tests this year. “I really wanted to challenge myself, especially in subjects that interest me,” Vessels said. “It’s been tough, but it’ll feel better when the tests are over.”
Varsity Track and Field at CIF Finals:
Many members of Mater Dei’s Varsity Track and Field teams have qualified for CIF Finals where they compete against some of the best schools in California. They show their talent as they place in numerous events such as the relay and numerous sprints. “We’ve been working really hard as a team,” junior and Varsity Team Captain Saige Acosta said. “I’m really proud of everyone.”
Mock Trial Banquet:
Mater Dei’s JV and Varsity Mock Trial celebrated their amazing season with an end-of-year Banquet. On Monday, May 6, the team gathered for a night full of speeches, food, bonding, and games. They were able to celebrate their third place win at the JSerra Competition and give recognition to their Seniors.
