Chambers Singer Retreat:

On Friday, Jan. 10, Mater Dei’s Honors Chambers Choir will embark on their annual retreat to Cedar Lake, Big Bear. This retreat allows students to not only bond in a new environment, but also improve their musical skills. Senior and Student Director, Niko Manapat, enjoys having the chance to take a getaway with some of his closest friends. “We’re all pretty close so this is a great opportunity,” Manapat said. “I love Big Bear and the time away from life.”

Varsity Boys Soccer vs. Jserra:

On Friday, Jan. 10, the Varsity Boys Soccer Team will compete against JSerra at their home field in San Juan Capistrano. This showdown against two very competitive Trinity League teams will be an entertaining game to watch. The game begins at 5:30 p.m., and the players would definitely enjoy fellow classmates showing up to support.

Academic Decathlon Objective Events and Super Quiz:  

On Saturday, Jan. 11, Mater Dei’s Academic Decathlon Team will compete in the annual Super Quiz, along with the accompanying events. The team had a successful season last year, and hopes to accomplish similar levels this year. This team works diligently all year to study to perfect their team for this event.
