February 10, 2017
It’s Sunday night, and as you cuddle up on your couch critiquing each red carpet fashion flop, preparations for Hollywood’s most infamous award shows, whether it be the Oscars or the Grammy’s, are beginning. There is nothing better than having some friends over to watch an epic gathering of Hollywood’s elite take place. In order to make your award show night the best it can be, here are a few checklist items that are essential to any night honoring the stars!
1.Party Snacks
Good food is basically the key to happiness. So naturally, addictive party appetizers are the perfect snack to munch on while the awards are given out. Chips and dip, cookies, popcorn or even cheese and crackers are vital when completing your award show part.!
2. Cozy attire
Sweats, fluffy socks and lots of blankets are key when awing at the designer gowns and dapper suits of the red carpet!
3. Ballots
Before the show starts, you and your friends can predict the night’s winners with printable voter ballots. This will ensure everyone is roped in and entertained for the entire night.
4. Your best pals
Finally, the most important aspect to a great viewing party is your best pals, because who else would you want to be with when some of the most important nights in Hollywood history are taking place.

![BUILDING THE FUTURE: Plans to build tennis courts and a new Performing Arts Center will be started and completed in the coming years. This will benefit students and athletes alike as they will enhance both the Athletic and Performing Arts Departments and bring much-needed venues and state-of-the-art spaces to campus. “You want to be rooted in that tradition of the school when [it comes to] these projects, we’ve always got to be innovating and moving forward,” Vice President of School Relations Scott Melvin said. ![GET UP Students laugh and dance at a school rally. All the events and rallies hosted by ASB help bring students together and make school an enjoyable place to be. Senior Maddy O’Connor believes ASB keeps everything together and the school spirit alive. “A lot of things wouldn't be as organized [without ASB] and it'd be kind of boring,” O’Connor said. “ASB brings joy to Mater Dei, and pretty much [all things] cool.”](https://thescarletscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HEIF-Image-1200x800.jpeg)
