Mock Trial wins

The Mock Trial team participated in the JSerra Tournament this past Saturday, Oct. 20. Both offensive and defensive teams won their trials. “The JSerra rounds are my favorite because we get low-stress practice for the real competitions in November,” said junior Aurora Ferrell, who was voted MVP for the trials.

Theatre Department hosts Shortsfest

This past weekend, the advanced and honors theatre classes hosted the annual Shortsfest. This year’s theme was “Cafe Mater Dei,” and the event was held in the Little Theatre. “To sum it up I would say, Shortsfest: short scenes, long fun,” said junior Lindsay Aquino,” a Shortsfest company member.

Renaissance Commission recognizes student accomplishments

The ASB Renaissance commission, in unison with the Mater Dei administration, hosted the first Principal’s Renaissance breakfast of the year on Monday in the LeVecke Center. The breakfast highlights students who have improved academically since last semester. “It’s a really great opportunity to be able to set up for it because we get to see how everyone seems quite proud of themselves,” junior and head Renaissance commissioner Skye Foucrier said. “That’s what this breakfast is all about, recognizing your accomplishments.”
