PLAYING A ROLE: Sister Charis (right) of Heart of Jesus Retreat Center applies costume makeup for Sacred Heart Kids Club Staff for a video. Staff members are expected to participate in Kids Club events, including videos, skits, games, and other activities. These activities help the kids understand the topics being discussed, such as the seven sacraments and their purposes, and set examples for the kids. “You get to work with [people] your own age, and it’s really just tons of fun,” Sister Paula said.

GATHERED AS ONE: During Winter Walk in Faith, seniors, along with the Director of Liturgical Music Steve Viau, gathered together to sing worship songs at the beginning of the retreat. Group activities such as singing songs and playing games were used to introduce and familiarize each student to their fellow retreat members. “That was the first time we all got together,” senior Tallulah Rehder said. “But as soon as we got together into a smaller group and started talking, it was so much more fun.”

Retreat Director Kendra Hart designed the retreat to replicate the Freshman Day of Welcome that the freshmen missed out such as bonding games, a sing- along, and various art activities. “I am excited to spend some time with my friends and grow closer to God,” freshman Joaquin Iglesias said.
