READY, SET, FOOTBALL: The Mater Dei football team started their season opener on Aug. 23 against Corona Centennial at the Santa Ana Stadium. It was the very first game of the 2019 season following a back-to-back CIF state championship win last year. At the end of the game, the Monarchs celebrated a victory against Centennial with the score of 42-12. “The start of the season has been amazing,” senior captain Dean Neely said. ...Everyone is playing fast and doing their jobs.”
![BUILDING THE FUTURE: Plans to build tennis courts and a new Performing Arts Center will be started and completed in the coming years. I love our schools football team cause they work hard and I see them out on the field a lot always working to get better. Even though they are aggressive on the field, they are actually really nice off the field and easy to get a long with.

This game was so much fun. I love going to the games and watching all of them play. It’s especially fun to watch all my friends that are on the team play!
