Kristen Castillo, Editor-in-Chief
Kristen Castillo is a senior at Mater Dei and is the Editor-in-Chief of The Scarlet Scroll. She enjoys covering stories about all aspects of the school community including sports, the arts, and student life. In addition to working on the newspaper, Castillo is also involved in the visual arts program, ASB where she works as a Scarlet Ambassador, and various AP classes. In addition to these school activities, Castillo is a part of the California Scholarship Federation, National Honors Society, National Art Honors Society, Renaissance club, and the Quill and Scroll Honors Society. When she is not helping out at school, Castillo enjoys exploring new places in Southern California, spending time with family, volunteering at church, watching football and basketball, and advocating for the Oxford comma. Her goal for the 2018-19 school year is to promote a positive and successful newsroom environment and create new friendships during her experiences in her last year of high school.
