Curran Nielsen, Editor-in-Chief

Curran Nielsen is a senior at Mater Dei Highschool and the Editor-in-Chief of The Scarlet Scroll. This year is Nielsen’s fourth year on staff and third year as an editor. Nielsen enjoys covering many aspects of student life, but especially enjoys writing features on students and events on campus. Nielsen is on the varsity Track & Field team as a hurdler, a Commissioner of Alumni & Advancement, an AP/honors student, a member of CSF and the Quill & Scroll Honor Society. In addition to writing, Nielsen enjoys watching movies, going to the beach, spending time with friends, and going on hikes. Nielsen is looking forward to the challenges that will come with running a newspaper while in a pandemic and the stories they will be able to write. During her last year on campus she hopes to not only make memories with her classmates, but to also accomplish the goals she has set her mind on for the last four years. Nielsen hopes to allow the newspaper to be an outlet for students and that they can expand their coverage while also creating change within the school community.
